Cemeteries
The Township of Minden Hills has four operational cemeteries located throughout the Township. The Cemetery Office is located at 55 Parkside Street, Minden. The regular hours of operation are Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Appointments are encouraged.
The Corporation of the Township of Minden Hills is licenced under the Bereavement Authority of Ontario and owns and operates the following active cemeteries under Cemetery Operator Licence #3274058.
To provide a cared for safe space where families and loved ones can visit, the cemetery clean ups are scheduled each year as follows:
- November 18 – 30
- April 18 – 30
Please note that wreaths, saddles, decorations and flowers that become significantly weathered, faded, damaged or moved from there placement, may be removed and disposed.

Minden Cemetery |
Minden Cemetery is the largest cemetery within the township residing just outside the Village of Minden. Bethel Cemetery |
Bethel is our smallest cemetery with graves dating back over 100 years. A beautiful log church resides on the property offering a historic charm to this quiet site. LocationDirectionsNorth on Hwy 35, turn East (right) onto Horseshoe Lake Road, turn East (right) again onto Bethel Road. |
Twelve Mile Lake Cemetery |
Twelve Mile Cemetery features a picturesque view of Twelve Mile Lake and sits next to a church of the same name. Gelert Cemetery |
Gelert Cemetery is set in a rural location next to an old railway line. With mature trees lining the back of the property, the cemetery offers a tranquil atmosphere. Bereavement Authority of Ontario (BAO) |
The BAO's Consumer Information Guide: A Guide to Death Care in Ontario is a free consumer-protection information booklet. The guide is written for families and the public to know their rights and responsibilities before entering into contracts with organizations that are licensed under the Funeral, Burial and Cremation Services Act, 2002. All licensees of the BAO are required to provide consumers with a copy of this guide.
