Subject: Winter Programs at Minden Hills Cultural Centre
The Minden Hills Cultural Centre will be hosting a series of programs and events between January and March 2024.
PA DAY MOVIES – February 2 and March 1, both Fridays, 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM
Join us for a FREE family-friendly movie in the Welch Room. No registration required. A snack will be provided.
Chinese New Year Drop-in Crafts – February 10, Saturday, 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM
Drop by the Cultural Centre and learn traditional Chinese calligraphy and papercutting crafts on the first day of Chinese New Year! All ages are welcome. Admission by donation.
“The Road Taken” Documentary Screening Event – February 15, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Come join us for a FREE documentary screening to recognize Black History Month. This 1996 film takes a nostalgic ride through history to present the experiences of Black sleeping-car porters who worked on Canada's railways from the early 1900s through the 1960s. The screening takes place in the Welch Room.
“Under the Willow” Documentary Screening Event – March 7, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM
Come join us for a FREE documentary screening to recognize International Women’s Day on March 8. The film tells the stories of Chinese women overcoming challenges to settle in Canada. The screening takes place in the Welch Room.
March Break Drop-in Programs – March 11 to March 15, 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM
The March Break Drop-in programs will be held at Nature’s Place from 10:00am to 1:00pm every weekday during March Break. No pre-registration is required. Admission is by donation. Suitable for children ages 5 to 12. Visitors are free to browse and play with the interactives at Nature’s Place. More specific information on the activities will follow.
The Minden Hills Museum & Heritage Village and Nature’s Place are closed for the season. The Agnes Jamieson Gallery is open and displaying a collection of work by André Lapine ARCA (1866-1952) as well as selections from our permanent collection until spring 2024.
The Cultural Centre and the Gallery are open Tuesday to Saturday between 10:00 AM and 4:00 PM, except the week of December 25th, 2023. Admission is by donation
