Subject: Film Screening: "Unwanted Soldiers"

Join the Minden Hills Cultural Centre and Haliburton County Public Library on Thursday, November 9^th for a special screening of Unwanted Soldiers. Admission is free, but donations are welcome. Proceeds will go to the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 636 - Minden.

This documentary tells the personal story of filmmaker Jari Osborne’s father, a Chinese Canadian veteran. She describes her father’s involvement in World War II and uncovers a legacy of discrimination and racism against British Columbia’s Chinese Canadian community. The screening will take place in the Welch Room starting at 5:00 PM. No registration required. The film is provided courtesy of the National Film Board of Canada.

The Cultural Centre is located at 176 Bobcaygeon Road, Minden, Ontario and is open Tuesday to Saturday, 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM.
