Subject: Dawson Hamilton Outdoor Memorial Rink – Opens January 25^th

The Township of Minden Hills wishes to advise that the Dawson Hamilton Outdoor Memorial Rink will be open starting Saturday, January 25, 2025. The outdoor rink is located on the lower baseball diamond behind SG Nesbitt Memorial Arena, there is no admission fee to use the rink. Rink is subject to weather conditions and the following rules.

Dawson Hamilton Memorial Outdoor Rink Rules

• The ice area is for skating only; no sticks, pucks or other equipment will be permitted;
• Strollers are not permitted on the ice surface;
• CSA approved helmets are strongly recommended for all skaters;
• Skaters are encouraged to skate at a sensible and safe speed in the same direction as other skaters at all times;
• All participants must be wearing skates while on the ice surface;
• Speed skating, figure skating, backward skating, participation in horseplay, skating games, and carrying children while on the ice will not be permitted;
• Do not visit parks and outdoor ice rinks if you are not feeling well;
• The Dawson Hamilton Memorial Outdoor rink is self regulated and the Township of Minden Hills is not responsible for any injury, loss or damage caused by the use of the outdoor rink. Use at own risk. 

Assumption of Risk

Skaters and spectators are deemed to have knowledge of and assume the inherent risks including, but not limited to:

• Injuries from collisions or contact with other individuals on the ice surface;
• Injuries from falls.
