The Township of Minden Hills will be hosting its annual Canada Day Event on Monday, July 1, 2024. Check out our full schedule of fun below!
Downtown Minden 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.
7:30 a.m.: Fishing Derby Registration Starts
8:00 a.m.: Fishing Derby Begins
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Vendors and Exhibitors
10:15 a.m.: Opening Ceremonies
10:30 a.m.: Fashion Show
11:00 a.m.: Last call for Fishing Derby Weigh-in
11:00 a.m.: FREE Canada Day Cupcakes from the Township of Minden Hills at the Community Services tent *while supplies last
1:00–2:00 p.m.: Rob Power, Master Magician strolling performance
Cultural Centre (176 Bobcaygeon Rd.) 10:00a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.: Activities throughout the day
10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.: Air Bounce Inflatables
11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.: Rob Power, Master Magician performance
12:00 – 1:00 p.m.: FREE Ice Cream, sponsored by Kawartha Dairy *while supplies last
Minden Fairgrounds (2048 Fleming Rd.):
Fireworks by Supernova at Dusk. Parking will be available in the upper field and can be accessed from Fleming Road (Ball diamond entrance). Please be aware there are no parking attendants.
From 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. you can check out the following vendors:
Canoe FM, Century 21, Minden Hills Fire Department, Haliburton Highlands Time Travellers, Horticultural Society, Minden Community Food Bank, OCWA, Into the Blue, Mini Pancake Tent, Minden Lions Club, Minden Rotary Club, Minden Pride, Highland Hills United Church, Our Lady of Fatima, and Haliburton Quilt Guild.
Reminder: Please bring a refillable water bottle to use, as there is an OCWA Water refill station to fill your water bottles.
Road Closures:
The following road closures will be in effect during the event:
- Water street From Bobcaygeon Road to St. Germaine Street
- Prince Street from St. Germaine to Water Street
- Milne Street from Newcastle Street to Prince Street
