The Minden Hills Cultural Centre, in collaboration with Haliburton County Public Library, invites you to an unforgettable screening of the award-winning documentary Mighty Jerome (2010) at the Cultural Centre at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025.
Directed by Charles Officer, Mighty Jerome tells the incredible story of Harry Jerome, one of Canada’s greatest track and field athletes. From his meteoric rise to becoming a world record holder, through personal and professional challenges, to what his coach called "the greatest comeback in track and field history," the film delivers a gripping and inspiring portrait of resilience and determination.
Featuring stunning black-and-white cinematography, powerful interviews, and archival footage, Mighty Jerome celebrates the life and legacy of a true Canadian sports hero while exploring themes of perseverance, social justice, and the pursuit of excellence.
Admission is free. All ages are welcome. No pre-registration is required. The documentary is provided courtesy of the National Film Board (NFB).
