We are currently accepting resumes for a Finance Summer Student in our Finance Department for the 2025 summer season, from May 5 to August 29, 2025.
An excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining experience in the municipal finance field. Working closely with the Finance team, this position will benefit anyone who is in finance, municipal finance, or related studies.
Duties include (but are not limited to):
- Data collection and entry for the Township’s Asset Management Plan.
- Receipting and processing payments using receipting software and debit machine.
- Providing vacation relief for Finance Staff, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Taxation and front counter Reception.
- Front counter and telephone customer service. Addressing general inquiries at the front counter or directing calls to appropriate departments.
- Assisting residents/tourists with tourism information on events and sites of interest in the area.
- Working at Township tourism events including Canada Day and other Township special events.
Preference will be given to those with experience in Municipal Finance, Finance, or Business studies. Excellent customer service skills, understanding of basic financial operations and cash handling abilities, as well as the ability to work independently are required.
The position is based on a 35-hour work week, Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM and the rate of pay is $18.00 per hour.
A clean Criminal Record and Judicial Matters Check is required for this position.
