Waste Facilities Closed and Programs Postponed on Wednesday, March 11, 2026 due to poor weather conditions and power outages.
In response to an expected major freezing rain event in the area, The Township of Minden Hills, in conjunction with neighbouring municipalities and the County of Haliburton has declared a Significant Weather Event at 2:00 p.m. local time on March 10, 2026. This weather event will likely impact travel and services throughout the County
The Township of Minden Hills is seeking a motivated and reliable individual to fill an existing vacancy in our Public Works Department as a Waste Facilities Operator. Reporting to the Manager of Waste Facilities, this role is responsible for the safe, efficient, and effective operation of the Township landfill, including site maintenance and ensuring compliance with operational procedures.
The Ministry of Natural Resources– Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District is advising area residents that a Watershed Conditions Statement - Water Safety bulletin is in effect in the District until Friday, March 13, 2026 This message will affect residents within the MNR Bracebridge-Minden-Parry Sound District for portions of the District of Parry Sound, District of Muskoka, and County of Haliburton within the Black, Boyne, Burnt, Gull, Pickerel, Seguin, Severn, Magnetawan and Muskoka River Watersheds.
