Slurry seal is a surface treatment designed to extend the life of asphalt pavements in good condition by providing skid resistance, restricting moisture intrusion, protecting the structure from further oxidation and raveling, and restoring a uniform black appearance. Slurry seal boasts quick construction times and reasonable disruption to the traveling public.
The following roads will receive a slurry seal in 2021:
Rice Road | Clear Lake Road |
Brady Lake Road | Tom Bolton Road |
Prentiskoka Heights Road | Lochlin Road |
∑= $275,950 |
Not to be confused with cold mix (used to patch potholes) CCAP is a flexible, self-healing, high performing asphalt laid at a minimum of 50mm (2”) thick.
The following roads will receive a CCAP overlay in 2021:
Howland Junction Road | Green Gables Road |
∑= $173,890 |
In 2021 roads receiving a double surface treatment will be pulverized, re-shaped, 100mm (4” of Granular ‘A’) applied, a double surface treatment (tar and chip) with a fog seal immediately following.
The fog seal, helps seal off any surface voids and raveling commonly found with surface treatment, preserving and extending the life of the surface.
Wigamog Road (50%) |
Scotch Line Road West (50%) |
Bacon Road (2 Hills) | |
