The Minden Hills Community Centre/Recreation Complex/S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena is expected to reopen on January 31 and the Minden Hills Cultural Centre on February 2 for limited use.
In response to public health and health care indicators starting to show signs of improvement, the Province of Ontario has announced steps to cautiously and gradually ease public health measures.
With safety of the upmost priority, the Township of Minden Hills will reopen the Minden Hills Community Centre/Recreation Complex/S.G. Nesbitt Memorial Arena and Minden Hills Cultural Centre, effective Monday, January 31 in a manner that meets stringent health and safety protocols and that follows Provincial orders and the advice of the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge District Health Unit (HKPR). Recreation facilities will be operating under 50 per cent capacity indoors and community members ages 12 years and older, including individuals with an eligible medical exemption, will be required to present identification along with an enhanced vaccine certificate with QR code.
To ensure all health and safety protocols are followed for all recreation programs each participant must pre-register with payment. Bookings will begin Friday January 28 by calling the community centre at 705-286-1260 x552. Walk-ins will be permitted, however there is no guarantee a space will be available.
