Haliburton County Farmers’ Market
Date: Saturdays 10am-2pm, May long weekend to Thanksgiving weekend
Location: Downtown Minden, Milne Street

Enjoy an easy stroll through the Farmers’ market where you can take in the products of local farmers, vendors and not for profit organizations

Minden Hills Artisan Market
Date: Saturdays 10am-2pm, June 22nd to Thanksgiving weekend
Location: Downtown Minden, Milne Street

A weekly market displaying handcrafted items from local vendors. Interested vendors can apply for a space for $10 a market day.

Haliburton County Fair
Date: Saturday June 8th
Location: Minden Fairgrounds

For over a century the County Fair has been praised by locals and visitors alike. With new attractions and exhibits planned annually, this event will keep you coming back year after year.  NEW this year: “Home Brew” featuring 7 local bands, Comic con presented by Pop Culture Canada, miniature horse derby, horse show and lots more to check out!

Minden Kin Club Truck Pull/Show Shine
Date: Third Saturday in June
Location: Minden Fairgrounds

Music by the Gull
Date: Friday evenings, June to August
Location: Downtown Minden, Water Street

Bring a lawn chair and sit back to enjoy a remarkable range of local musical offerings under the open skies by the Gull River in the heart of Minden village. Brought to you by the Minden Lions Club and Highland Winds Symphony

Minden Hills Canada Day
Date: July 1st, 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM
Location: Downtown Minden, Cultural Centre, Fairgrounds

There are attractions for everyone to enjoy like the Haliburton Highlands Time Travelers classic car show, kids fishing derby, 1.51km family fun run, FREE ice cream sponsored by Kawartha Dairy, live music and performances and food vendors to keep you well fed and watered throughout the day.

At dusk, there is a spectacular fireworks show at the Minden Fairgrounds. Entry is by donation.

Minden Hills Bluegrass Festival
Date: July 18th-20th

Regretfully due to very poor advance ticket sales, we have made the very difficult decision to cancel this year’s Festival.

Our advance ticket sales helps us to estimate what our overall revenue/expenses will be and in particular, to cover the cost of the bands.

We would like to thank all of those who have supported our Festival.

Join the community to honour departed ancestors by celebrating at a festival of events before releasing paper lanterns into a floating parade down the Gull River

Fall & Winter

Minden Hills Family Halloween Party
Date: Friday October 25th, 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
Location: Minden Community Centre

An annual event with games, prizes for best individual and family costumes, refreshments and of course music so you can show off your best dance moves. Admission is by donation and all children must be accompanied by an adult.

Minden Hills Lights and Delights
Date: Friday November 15th, 6:30 PM
Location: Downtown Minden

An evening of food, music and holiday cheer as the town of Minden lights up their main street for the season.

Minden Hills Festival of Trees
Date: November 22nd to November 24th
Location: Cultural Centre

An annual fundraiser for the Minden Hills Cultural Centre that is meant for the entire family. Bid on beautifully decorated trees, wreaths, garlands, gift baskets or spend your time in the candy shop and gift shop.

Minden Hills Santa Claus Parade
Date: Saturday November 23rd at 11:30 AM
Location: Downtown Minden

Meet Santa and his friends as they travel through the downtown area in Minden. After the parade, you can meet Santa and enjoy a cup of hot chocolate at the Cultural Centre.

Minden Hills Christmas Artisan Market
Date: Sunday November 24th, 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM
Location: Minden Community Centre

Just in time for your holiday shopping! Come and check out handcrafted items made by local artisans. Cost to enter a booth is $10. Admission is free to the public.

Minden Hills Family New Year’s Eve
Date: December 31st, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM
Location: SG Nesbitt Arena

Grab your skates, toboggans and family and bring them to this family event at the S.G Nesbitt Memorial Arena. There will be public skating, tobogganing, marshmallow roasting and popcorn all for free!

Kinsmen Ice Races
Date: January to March
Location: Minden Fairgrounds

Watch from the sidelines as cars race around an ice track built and maintained by the Minden Kin Club at the Minden Fairgrounds, or get in one yourself as a Canadian Automobile Sport Clubs-Ontario Region ice racer
