Accounts Receivable/Accounting Clerk

We are currently accepting resumes for an Accounts Receivable/Accounting Clerk. This position provides assistance to the Director of Finance/Treasurer in the development and implementation of financial goals and objectives relative to the processing and payment of accounts receivable, utility billing and general accounting requirements. This position oversees the day-to-day financial functions relating to accounts receivable, utility billing and general accounting requirements.

This is a full time, union position, based on a thirty-five (35) hour work week, being Monday to Friday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The current rate of pay is $24.60/hour as per LOCAL 4286 Collective Agreement. Earnings will be subject to Union dues.

Building, Bylaw, Planning Department

Building Inspector/Municipal Law Enforcement Officer

We are currently accepting resumes for a Building Inspector/Municipal Law Enforcement Officer with a focus in Septic Inspections. This position is responsible for the application and enforcement of the Ontario Building Code, provincial legislation, all Municipal by-laws and other applicable laws in order to ensure compliance. 

As a member of CUPE Local 4286, your hours of work will consist of 35/week, with an hourly rate of pay of $26.60. Earnings will be subject to Union dues.

Community Services Department

Summer Students PARKS

We are currently accepting resumes for two (2) summer student positions for a sixteen (16) week term, effective from May 10 to August 27, 2021. The Summer Student provides support and a variety of maintenance operations for the Community Services Department. Preference will be given to those with experience in lawn care, gardening, painting, cleaning or related combination.

Hours will be based on forty (40) hour/week, and involve variable shifts. Rate of pay is $14.25/hour, pending 2021 budget and grant funding approval.

Casual Operators

We are currently accepting resumes for Casual Operators. This position is responsible for for the operation and maintenance of the parks, cemeteries and facilities.

This is a non-union position, based on a maximum of a 24-hour work week to a maximum of 48 hours every 2 weeks as well as for occasional special projects with hours being variable shifts. The rate of pay for this position is $18.22/hour. The Township reserves the right to terminate or extend the position at any time.

Economic Development and Cultural Centre

Summer Students MHCC (Heritage Interpreters)

We are currently accepting resumes for two (2) summer student (Heritage Interpreter) positions for a sixteen (16) week period from May 4 to August 21, 2021. This is an excellent opportunity for a student sincerely interested in Canadian history. Working directly with Curators, this position will be of superior benefit to anyone who is in museum studies. Duties include (but are not limited to): assisting with developing and delivering public programming, wearing time period clothing while demonstrating living history activities, public speaking while touring, working with the permanent collection, gardening and cleaning.

Students must meet Young Canada Works (YCW) Eligibility Requirements. Preference will be given to those with experience in art, history, museum studies, theatre, tourism, environmental studies or museum/gallery administration or related combination. Good public speaking skills and ability to work independently are required.

Hours will be based on thirty-five (35) hours/week, Tuesday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 4:30 PM with a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch. Rate of pay is $14.25/hour, pending 2021 budget and grant funding approval.
