Building, Bylaw, Planning Department

Building Inspector/Municipal Law Enforcement Officer FULL TIME

We are looking for a qualified individual to join our Building/Bylaw/Planning Department as a Full Time Building Inspector/MLEO. Reporting to the CBO/MLEO/Planning Supervisor, this position will be responsible for the application and enforcement of the Ontario Building Code, provincial legislation, all municipal bylaws and other applicable laws in order to ensure compliance.

This is full time, union position. Hours are based on a 35 hour work week, being Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Rate of pay is $25.69/hour. Earnings will be subject to union dues.

Certification as set out by the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing (MMAH) and the Ontario Building Code in General Legal/Process and House or Small Buildings is a requirement of this position. Planning Technician

Reporting to the Planner, this position is responsible for aiding and assisting the Planning Department in: responding to requests for Planning information; reviewing building plans for compliance with the Township’s Zoning By-law; responding to general inquiries and requests for planning information; interpretation and analysis of planning documents and policies; assists in the preparation of background research and reports; preparing GIS mapping; and, providing general operational support to the functioning of the Building By-laws and Planning Department.

This is full time, union position. Hours are based on a 35 hour work week, being Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. Rate of pay is $23.76/hour, and is currently under review. Earnings will be subject to union dues.

Community Services Department

Casual Part Time Operator

The Casual Part Time Operator is responsible for the operation and maintenance of the parks, cemeteries and facilities in the department.

This non-union position is for an anticipated 1 year period. This is a casual position, consisting of a maximum of 24 hours/week, to a maximum of 48 hours every 2 weeks as well as for occasional special projects, with hours being variable shifts.

The Rate of pay for this position is $16.43/hour.
