Municipal Law Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector

The Building, Bylaw, Planning Department is currently accepting resumes for a Municipal Law Enforcement Officer/Building Inspector.

This position is responsible for the application and enforcement of the Ontario Building Code, provincial legislation, all Municipal by-laws and other applicable laws in order to ensure compliance.

This is a temporary full time position with the possibility of becoming permanent full time.

Hours will be based on a 35 hour work week, being 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday. The rate of pay is $25.69/hour as per the LOCAL 4286 Collective Agreement.  Earnings will be subject to Union dues.

Community Services Department

Summer Students PARKS

The Minden Hills Community Services Department is currently accepting resumes for two (2) summer student positions, for a sixteen (16) week term, effective from April 29 to August 23, 2019.

This position provides support and a variety of maintenance operations for the Community Services Department.

Hours will be based on 40 hours/week and involve variable shifts. The rate of pay is $14.00/hour, pending 2019 budget and grant funding approval.

Individuals who are returning to school in the Fall of 2019 and do not exceed 30 years of age will be considered as an asset. A valid Ontario driver’s license, green patch safety footwear and a clean Vulnerable Sector Check are also required for this position.  Preference will be given to those with experience in lawn care, gardening, painting, cleaning, or related combination.

Curatorial Programming Assistant

The Economic Development and Cultural Centre Department is currently seeking a Curatorial Programming Assistant for the Minden Hills Cultural Centre.

This position assists the Curator of the Minden Hills Cultural Centre with program delivery, exhibit development and collections management in support of the operation of the Minden Hills Cultural Centre; consisting of the Agnes Jamieson Gallery, Minden Hills Museum & Heritage Village and Nature’s Place.

The position is based on a 35-hour work week, generally being Tuesday to Saturday 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM including some evenings. Days may vary seasonally. The rate of pay is $21.02/hour as per the LOCAL 4286 Collective Agreement. Earnings will be subject to Union dues.

The Township of Minden Hills is looking for a Deputy Fire Chief.  This new full time position reports to the Fire Chief and is responsible for the day to day operations of the department and strategic support to the Fire Chief.  The Deputy Fire Chief provides proactive leadership to emergency response and rescue, fire prevention, public education, training, equipment, apparatus and facility maintenance; and ensuring compliance with the Ontario Fire Code, Municipal by-laws and Provincial and Federal Legislation.
